Carney Fails to Secure any Significant Change in Trade War with USA

Carney's recent trip to Washington incurred significant expenses for Canadian taxpayers. Beyond a press conference with the American President, it is unclear what tangible benefits were brought back to Canada because of this visit.

Carney believes that Trump is likely to move forward with an agreement, even as Trump continues to uphold his position on the 51st State. Trump has consistently maintained this stance and remains dedicated to pursuing this objective.

If there were a look on any of the Canadian delegations face that underlines it was plastered all over Dominic LeBlanc's face. That is not a look of a man who is finding success that is a look of total defeat.

Trump who is still declaring War on his own people basically calling them the enemy within treats our Nation as if it is his own little Tinker Toy set to which he can do with which he pleases.

It appears unlikely that an agreement will be reached at this time. Rather than delegating trade matters to ambassadors and embassies, Mr. Carney has chosen to travel personally, incurring costs for Canadian taxpayers. As of now, these efforts have not yielded tangible results for Canada.

Instead of pursuing negotiations for Canada's entry into the European Union to strengthen the nation's economic outlook, Carney appears satisfied that there is a component within President Trump's agenda which will provide Canada with some degree of trade liberalization.

The presentation of the Keystone XL proposal to President Trump elicited limited feedback, and it is plausible that the matter was brought up in response to concerns raised by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.

Carney's approach focuses primarily on long-term macroeconomic adjustments, which is a valid strategy but may not fully address the immediate domestic concerns. Introducing symbolic elements such as a golden dome into negotiations of this scale may detract from substantive discussions, potentially promoting militaristic agendas at the expense of national sovereignty and the longstanding role played by NORAD.

The more important changes that need to be addressed are micro economic and are Canadas and Canadas alone and need to be addressed immediately

Rather than focusing solely on broader economic trends, Carney should prioritise addressing issues within Canada's microeconomic environment. Meaningful improvement in the overall economy is contingent upon significant microeconomic advancements within the country.

President Trump appears to hold a position of considerable leverage over Canada, leading him to adopt a relaxed approach while monitoring the state of Canada's economy. The White House continues to issue strong statements as President Trump intensifies his rhetoric, making Mr. Carney's stance increasingly untenable in the current environment.

Given the current trajectory of Canada's relationship with the American administration, it may be advisable for Canada to proactively seek opportunities in larger and more economically stable markets worldwide.

My assessment is that there may be a return to the polls as early as January, given the likelihood that Carney's Government will not survive a confidence motion regarding the budget, particularly in light of emerging instability within the Provincial Premiers Coalition. However, it appears unlikely that another election would lead to significant changes, as current political discourse remains disconnected from pressing Canadian economic issues.
