  Well, another Labour Day has come and gone. Now, for most, Labour Day has lost, in large part, its historical significance and the democratic power that the once large, organised  Labour movements in this country once held in Canada and indeed across North America and Europe. Labour Day, in fact, comes from the May Day celebrations in Europe on May 1st each year. Sadly, a celebration of workers' rights became a day where the Soviet Union and other countries behind the Iron Curtain put on display the latest weapons of mass destruction and military might.   The complex realities of technological advancement have finally dealt a deathblow to the Canadian Post Office and the remainder of a once-flourishing service sector . The once job-filled service sector has been replaced by the very same automation that shut down the once massi ve assembly lines of companies like General Motors and Ford.   The Carney Government is currently considering changes that may impact up to 55,000 Canadian postal workers. The post office, whose unions were once influential, now faces challenges to its sustainability as a crown corporation. Door-to-door delivery service is expected to be discontinued , marking a significant shift from what has traditionally been a part of Canadians' everyday lives.   Also, there will be the frequency of delivery. Carney Fails to Secure any Significant Change in Trade War with USA

  Carney's recent trip to Washington incurred significant expenses for Canadian taxpayers. Beyond a press conference with the American President, it is unclear what tangible benefits were brought back to Canada  because of  this visit.   Carney believes that Trump is likely to move forward with an agreement, even as Trump continues to uphold his position on the 51st State. Trump has consistently  maintained  this stance and  remains  dedicated to pursuing this  objective .   If there were a look on any of the Canadian delegations face that underlines it was plastered all over  Dominic  LeBlanc's  face.
